Addie Aline's Journal, 25 Feb 16

Yesterday went ok I'm glad I won't be out in the wind today.

I have a favor to ask, Marcel my 13 year old, whose picture is back up on my profile, is going to the vet tomorrow because he's lost 2 pounds in the last 4 months. That's too much so quick for a cat even if he is over weight. He has aging kidneys and I fear they may be worse or because of his weight maybe diabetes. Please say a prayer for him. I don't know if I could stand loosing him I haven't gotten over loosing Merlin yet. I should have kept a closer watch on his weight but with all my eye problems I stopped weighing him once a month.

Do any of you know what I could mix ground flax seeds and ground chia seeds with? I'm on a LCHF diet. I was putting them in my protein shake but since I may stop it I'd like to still get them in my diet. I'm going to use the walnuts and pumpkin seeds as a snack.

Everyone stick with your plan. We can all do this one day at a time.

I will loose this extra weight because I want to and I need to. I will do this ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!

Is Marcel on a raw diet? That can help with a lot of different issues (weight, his organs, diabetes, his coat, eyes, etc) Hope he is okay and good luck on your journey

Our pets are so precious to us. Prayers sent up for sweet Marcel. I put chia seeds in my coffee. By the time I get to the bottom of the cup they have puffed up to a tapioca like consistency. I love that texture, makes me think I'm eating pudding!

I agree with above, Put your baby on a raw diet. I never fed my babys (2 pups) commercial dog food ever. I feed them Pet Burger from Wellness Meats which is ground up beef, liver, heart etc as part of their meal along with boiled chicken and carrots. I actually give them a vitamin incase I miss any of the nutrients they need. I also feed them raw organic chicken bones. Cats are different of course, but do some researching on Raw diet for cats and see if any of that helps. Keeping your baby in my prayers.

I eat flax seed meal right from the Tbs in small amounts then drink water until I have "ate" 2T. I didn't like putting it in beverages or on my food.

I will look into the raw diet, I doubt that he will eat it, he never wants anything when I'm cooking. He's acting like he did right after Merlin passed, he's never been the same since. @rhonique I have ground chia seeds but it wold still work I would just have to drink the amount of coffee I want first, thanks for the tip. @Mistybenner I'll try your tip with the flax seed meal but I'm not sure if I can do it that way. Thanks to all of you for being there for me. I won't even know tomorrow because they will have to wait for the blood work to come back.
