I’ve been thinking a LOT about the scale lately, not weighing in daily but close. I put a ton of emphasis on the digital number that appears…and maybe not enough on the dozens of daily positive choices throughout my day.

While I’m super active doing gardening and Pilates almost everyday, the scale number isn’t moving all that much - even though I DO feel less heavy, my clothes are much looser, and I’ve been sleeping better.

So where’s the correlation between muscle and fat? I’ve always been told muscle weighs more than fat - so if I’m building muscle, perhaps my weight won’t drop as much as I’d like? Anyone else think of that often? 💪

I don't think of it often but I do know that all those things not associated with the scale are wonderful because the scale doesn't tell the whole story. The scale usually is the last thing to move once you're closer to maintaining. I focus on my overall health picture concerning high blood pressure, diabetic numbers, heart health, strength, balance, endurance, stamina and mind health. A pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle because it's 1 pd. The difference is a pound of fat takes up more area than a pound of muscle and fat on your body looks lumpier than a pound of toned muscles so your weight doesn't go down but the area you take up does so clothes fit loser and you look more toned.

Berry explained this perfectly. NSV are very important thing to be acknowledged. The scale is just a number there's so much more to this than that. Be proud of where you've been, where you currently are, and where you're heading. Perception is everything in being healthier and more fit. What you say to yourself internally matters immensely. You'll become what you believe. Just some food for thought.
