I'm trying to add in things like push-ups. I can't do the full ones anymore. It really hurts my lower back to try at this point, so I'm doing them on my knees for now. I'm making myself do squats also. I'm considering whether or not I should try planking to help with the core muscle issues? I'm not sure that's the way to go for me. I also did some exercises with my 3 lb hand weights. I've had them forever, I just don't use them.

So creative challenges here; I have limited space at home; and I am embarrassed to work out in front of my family. Although I will be showing my oldest daughter some very basic yoga stretches for her back, neck, and shoulders, since she went to the big trampoline park yesterday, and landed wrong.

I also have myself convinced there's just not enough time or energy in the day to make this a daily habit.

I go back to, we have the Just Dance games for the Wii, which I swore up and down I would play with the kids, and never have. So that is a good way to get in some cardio without the embarrassment.

My lovely husband had the idea of getting some resistance bands to help my daughter with her struggle to draw her compound bow at the weight she will need it for hunting. I found a set of four on Amazon for about $12. So those are on their way. I figure she can work out her arms, and I can use them to do various exercises. I am hoping that the exercises done with them won't require a terribly huge space, and I can close the door to our bedroom while I do them. The only one who might wander in will be the cat. Yes, the cat can open the door.

Tax returns are in process too. A good chunk of them are going towards a new bed for hubby and I. We've both been struggling with muscle and joint issues, and our old inner spring mattress is junk, even with a memory foam pad added to the top. I'm hoping that will help alleviate some of my issue with wanting to exercises. No one wants to do something that hurts. At least not most people. But I am also tired of feeling limited by joint and muscle pain, which is compounded by the extra weight.

The remaining portion of the returns are going towards fitness for the family. Hubby and I both want memberships to the Rec Center. I want to combine mine with an ice arena pass. (I can skate for hours, and not hurt until I'm done. I love skating.) My two girls want ice arena passes as well, and my younger son has been hounding us about taking a Karate or Tae Kwon Do class. We have a studio just down the road from us. But the also do classes at the Rec.
