I'm bummed since I've been feeling bad I hadn't checked to see if the ketone strips were still in the purple so I checked and their not even in the pink. It's amazing what a few days of being under the weather can do. So I'm determined to get back in the grove. I can do this and I want this. I really liked seeing purple.
I'm putting a pork roast in the crock pot so later I can shred it and I can use a carb free sugar free bbq sauce and my DH can use the sauce he likes. Of course I won't be putting it on bread not even the low carb bread I made and put in the freezer to use now and then. I'm going to get back in the purple doing pretty basic that's what I did before.
My stomach is felling better this morning so I think the worst is behind me so it's time o get serious, I still have lots of cloths I want to wear again. Im not a clothes-aholic I hate clothes shopping I didn't like it when I was thin. This may sound strange but since I got Fibromyalgia it's very uncomfortable to have clothes touching my body very closely.
Well I'm going to do this one day at a time, I know I can.

It's worth it to pick up a digital blood tester and some ketone strips. When I started my nutritional ketone diet, for about 5 days the strips showed nice and purple -- and then it faded away as my body started USING the ketones, instead of just dumping them. My ketone levels are still around 1.0 to 1.5 most every time I blood test. If your feeling cruddy is part of initial induction -- the dreaded "ketone flu" -- I recommend picking up some Lite Salt -- potassium chloride + calcium chloride. For that first week your body is dumping excess water and losing a LOT of minerals in the process. A good multi-mineral tablet can also be a life-saver. My food all tasted kinda weird as my sense of taste shifted in the induction phase. Adding some salty helped.

There is no level of Ketosis...you're either in it or not, so any color is good. The strips don't actually measure Ketones.
