BlackButterfly615's Journal, 18 Oct 09

I need to reshift my focus. I'm falling out of love with the feeling that my life is consumed with food; How many points is this, what do I have to adjust to eat that, etc... I'm diving headfirst in to planning my daughter's birthday party. I'm even baking her cake myself, (ME! Madame Publix Bakery! LOL). That aside, I found myself thinking, "Okay, Angela, you're serving pizza at the party, and Skate Station won't allow any "outside food", so you've gotte eat before the party..." UGH! Hubby snuck out to get me some coffee (I'd tried to cut back, but apparently my family was suffering though my withdrawal). School's not even serving as a good enough distraction. But this is a lifestyle change, and I'd made a lifestyle of being unhealthy, so I guess I'm still reprogramming myself.

I understand how you feel. I thought I was obsessed with food BEFORE weight watchers, I definitely am MORE obsessed now. I didn't look at your profile before I commented, so I don't know how long you've been doing this. I've been doing it two months now, and find that as long as I STAY on the wagon, I do much better. Hang in there. Pizza, cake and normal birthday things are tough, BUT... it's only one day. And if you're going to change your lifestyle, can you REALLY say that birthdays are off limits from now on? Is that realistic to you? For me, if it's mine or my daughters, it's my day to have fun. Be reasonable, but don't beat yourself up for enjoying yourself. After all... it's a celebration. Just get back on that wagon the next day, and you'll be fine.
