DairyKing's Journal, 24 Dec 15

Good Morning, FS Warriors! Christmas Eve, Yay! Yesterday was another beautiful day - at least during the day, before the storm hit. Worked outside all day. Could hardly straighten up by the end of the day - which is a good thing. Not that I couldn't straighten up, but that I'm motivated to do physical labor all day. I'll get used to it again. In my exuberance to put my monster scissor lift in the barn last week, I cut the corner a little sharp, hit some old truck parts and took out the valve stem on the tire tube. This machine weighs over 8,000 pounds, so I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to remove the wheel. Got er done. No big deal. Cost me $18 to have the tube replaced. Not bad at all!

Yay, I don't eat so much when I'm busy. I'm not naive enough to think I'm going to lose weight over the Christmas holiday, but I don't think I'm going to pack any more on either. I'm staying away from the sweets pretty well, and believe me, there are plenty lying around for the grandkids.

Took my step-daughter on our annual shopping spree to find some Christmas presents for DW. I always end up getting her something also while we are out shopping. I bought her a nice winter coat that she liked. Of course, we had to eat lunch and supper. We finished off the evening at the Olive Garden, which is one of my favorites. I am a sucker for penne pasta, meat sauce and sausage. Hey, it's Christmas time! Since I don't know how generous I can afford to be in the future, I decided to splurge on a ring for DW. This thing sparkles like crazy no matter what the lighting! A picture would not do it justice. She's a gypsy! Not really, but she wears multiple rings on every finger.

I am enjoying the heck out of retirement and I am not even officially retired until the 31st. I would normally be off the last couple weeks of the year anyway. But I can tell I am going to enjoy it. I just have a little more spring in my step, and a whole lot more excitement about working on my projects.

Just thought I'd post a couple more pics showing the monster.

Done!

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful and Merry Christmas!
Toodles!

Merry Christmas, DK!!! We love Olive Garden, too. That is usually where we go for our special occasions but now that we live so far away from one ... it has to be on our way to or from someplace else that we have traveled to. Hugs and hang on to that monster equipment around the turns!

REpairs on large equipment that come in below $100 are a cause for celebration!!
