BE AWARE - I am finding mistakes on the nutrtional labels of food items in the database!
I couldn't believe how much sodium I was taking in on a daily basis until I noticed that the Quaker rice cakes had an unbelievable amount of sodium listed!! If you are finding items with mistakes, you can actually edit the item and correct the mistake.... * click on the item - it will take you to the item - find the Nutrition Facts Label * scroll down until you see "Edit this Food" * click on "Edit this Food" - it will take you to the item in the database * fix any mistakes that you find * it will ask you to tag the food so scroll on the drop down menu and click on a word that best represents the food item - Note: this is a must do or it wont save your changes!! * Share and Collaborate * SAVE!
I have also added items that I couldn't find by clicking on "Add Custom Food" in My Food Diary
I believe this database is set-up by people like you and me and it is NOT direct from manufacture based!

I remember entering lima beans once from the database and it showed cholesterol! I remember someone commenting that lima beans don't have a liver. I made an entry from the information on the package. I also have a hard time entering things like chicken breast and chuck roast. There are many to choose from, most have the name of a grocery store and all have different information. Usually the information is not available on the packages I buy

LoL @ Fritzy..."lima beans don't have a liver" I remember having that same arguement with my kitchen manager when everyone was on the big cholesterol kick! If it doesn't have a liver - it doesn't contain cholesterol!!
Also...I am so glad that others are finding errors in the database - I thought maybe I had gone a lil loopy LoL
