Good for you in not eating the chocolate! Glad the "blob" is down. I couldn't carry 54 pounds!

While i was eating all the chocolate, a family of mice was eating some of the wires in my engine compartment. Going to be expensive, I think. Sucks.

By chance did you coat the wires with chocolate for the mice?🫣. Seriously tho thats zero fun.

It seems that they have a taste for the coatings on wires for newer cars. Which is interesting because mine is ~10 years old and this is the first time I’ve had this problem. So gross.

The deterrent kit includes peppermint oil and mothballs. We won’t talk about the rest.

That's crazy! The mice got into both our niece's car wiring & her daughter's just before Christmas.

Coming up for air from the rabbit hole. Newer cars’ wires are coated with soy. The rodents find it delicious and it provides nutrients. Good to know. There’s lots of suggestions, but laundry sheets, aromatics, and other stuff. I’m going to use the peppermint oil and some traps in my parking spot. Expensive lesson. Still can’t believe they caught 4 live ones in there. I hope they’re not inside the car too.

We've had pretty good luck with the peppermint oil. I buy it by the gallon from Amazon. I feel for you. My Cadillac needs new differential seals. The cost is over $1500.00.

The same thing happens to me at my old house, in 2007 but it was rats! I was fostering 13 puppies and on some days I had them in the garage in a huge gated area. My garage was on an alley so many neighbors across on the alley from me and all along the alley would come to play with the puppies.I didn't realize that with the garage door open, the rats got in. The puppies were always in the house at night, spending just a few hours in the garage. I had no idea about the rats until they chewed all kinds of wires in my car.

Ugh, that’s about what I’m expecting, Tink. Maybe more depending on how far it went. Frustrating.

Fritzy, I need Sadie back. She was my best rat killer. I assume there were mice, too. I’m going to have to hire someone for the yard to make sure there’s nowhere for them to live.
