Many years ago, I consulted with my primary care physician about weight loss. After some math, she recommended that I eat 800 calories a day to lose weight. I can eat anything I want. I do not have to watch my carbs or proteins. This is what best matches my lifestyle. I've lost weight using this method in the past. I found it to be easier on me, less stressful. I do find myself hungry more often, which is a good thing. I can now graze throughout the day on healthy food. When you eat more often, it will raise your metabolism too. So it's a win/win situation. I used to panic that 800 calories was not enough and that I was always hungry, however I was combining my low calorie diet with low carb and that was triggering more anxiety than anything. It was causing a cortisol response from being hungry and not being able to get in enough food during the day, because of all the calories in all the high protein foods. As a result my metabolism slowed down and left me feeling hopeless with my effort. I'm doing things slightly differently now and feeling more confident without a feeling of anxiety if I get hungry.
