I've started this journey again, and this time, I really don't want to give up on myself. I am curious, what do some you use as goals besides losing weight, and what rewards would you set for reaching said goals?

I find with better eating that I sleep better. So it’s one of the things that keep me motivated. No reward system yet. Goodluck with your journey

Hi Adriana, I'm looking for people to follow as I've also decided to get my health on track this year. I weighed in on the 30th of December @ 116kg. My aim is to start the Daniel Fast tomorrow for 21days but I've been following Ilmee Mintz and started to adjust my eating habits to her suggestions. My aim is to hit the single figures by June 2024.

I set 'small' goals, 5-8 kg's if you have a lot to go and a treat as I reach each goal (has to be something I wouldn't normally do for myself like get my nails or hair done) I also know I'm a visual person when it comes to goals so a good old habit tracker in an app or paper and stickers works for me in the daily/weekly. And while I weigh daily, I only log once a week so I can see a clearer downwards trend rather than a daily up and down. Lost 17kg's in 2022, found it again. Not giving up this time!

Hi, I have started this journey and weigh about 132.9kg when I started this journey. My lowes was 98kgs in July. Picked up again from July/Desember when I wasn't counting calories. I have set goals with weightloss and to workout. I rewarded myself in colouring ny hair, getting more earlobe piercings. Getting a lip ring. Everything I've always wanted thats still affordable, that way I know I can do/buy sonething once that reward was met. My husband also supported me woth body massages when I reached more goals. It all depends on person to person. It's better to put up goals and reward system then it's more excitement because you know that it's rewarding you, you dont just give something. You get something. It's more fun ♡

But I don't reward myself now because I have gained and must first get where I was before my reward system will give something. I have gained now I made the reward time longer on myself. But looking forward to get where I was.

Goals include feeling more energetic and feeling better in my clothes. I set myself goals for the process rather than the outcome. My reward is feeling better. I’m worried that if I focus too much on an outcome like weight goals, when I reach it, it will be the end of the process, which will be self-sabotaging. Rewards can be things like doing my hair or nails, or some other self-nurturing thing.

Well losing weight is the main goal but also so you can be healthy, to be able to move your body easily and it makes tasks less difficult. You should also not put to much pressure on yourself because it’s a long journey, just reach your goals day by day and it you don’t do well one day then it’s okay, you keep moving forward xx

I don’t know if someone’s said this, but WATER! I realised I would eat when thirsty so now, my aim is to drink 2L a day and also make sure that I have a glass of water before eating something when I feel the munchies coming on

I've just started my journey again as well. my goals besides the weight is also just to get fit. my job forces me to not do anything for long periods, so to get more movement. I've cut out takeaways, and breads. so at the end of the week I reward myself with something I'm craving (something small to not go overboard). then as goal weight rewards I get specific takeaways I know doesn't fit into my eating plan.
