That’s what I do too. Instead of no carbs, I lower them. I have 1/4 or 1/2 sweet potato for example like you did.
It’s also keeping total daily calories in check and eliminating snacking that’s helping me.
I average 1900-2000 calories in maintenance. I also completely cut out super high sugary drinks and highly processed sugary foods like cake, candy bars, donuts, etc.
I still have sweets but it’s 1/2 of an apple or homemade healthier dessert options.

I try not to stress about them. I eat all the veggies & meat I want but try really hard to limit the carbs & sugar which are my favorite!

Storm girl, that is what I do as well. Portion control and moderation.

Looks like it tastes great

I too watch carbs. My nutritionist set my daily carbs at 100. I can usually stay within that perimeter.

Some people can successfully moderate, others are carb addicts and need to aim for 0 carbs. I try to keep it under 20 grams per day. Keto. More and I experience cravings.

Try pumpkin, it’s lower in carbs but still tastes delicious, especially when airfried with tiny bit of coconut oil 🤤

I have been in maintenance for 2 1/2 years and I watch my carbs - they are the one thing that my trainer adjusts the most depending if I need to lose or stay the course. I try to eat good carbs daily though.

yeah portion control is a big part of my plan. weight and measure everything. my nutritionist said as we age we need more protein. i was limiting my proteins at dinner to 3 oz she suggested i up it to 4 ounces, more veggies less carbs

@lisa_64 how do you make the pumpkin in the air fryer exactly? i've never used one and i've heard ppl rave about them. a spoonful in a tsp of coconut oil? seems like it would be a runny mess until it fries up i guess. i'll need to look into this but my counter is already clutterred with so many appliances. not sure i have room for one more! any particular one you recommend?

rubato, super easy just cut pumpkin into small pieces and use an oil spray on top, leave in for 10 minutes at 180 Celsius, when it’s done , shake and put for another 5 minutes to get the crisp.
I personally use brush as oil in the container is a lot cheaper than spray. Comes to 4g of oil per 300g (raw) of pumpkin but I’m not on keto and keeping fats in check too. If you don’t have airfrier you can do that in oven, I just like airfrier because it gives that crispy finish to things. Even boring chicken breast tastes amazing. Not a particular brand, I just got random one under $100 from Amazon.
