Good Morning, FS Warriors! All is well on the homestead again, as if nothing ever happened. I made it all the way to about 2 o'clock yesterday, having eaten little calories, knowing that weigh-in was today. And then the Snack Monster got me. I felt compelled to exercise: that is, I felt compelled to walk the 200 feet or so to the vending machine - not once, but twice: the first trip for a bag of Fritos, and then for a bag of crunchy Cheetos! DW was cooking homemade tenderloins and steak fries when I got home. Although my daily intake was not that extravagant, I was disappointed that I had so little reserve.
The good news is that I dusted off the treadmill last night. I decided that I am not going to wear myself into the ground like I did last year, before taking ill with some God-forsaken cold and cough that took me out of the game for 3 months. I have decided to pursue a regimen of walking and running. Right now, based on Jeff Galloway's run/walk program, and my current pace, I am running 30 seconds/walking 30 seconds. I did this for about 1.75 miles last night, and was rather surprised at how easy it was to do that. We will see what the legs feel like tomorrow, and whether I overdid it or not.
DW tells me that a bunch of us are going to see the movie "War Room" tomorrow at the theater in the big city. Apparently, it was produced by the same group that did the movie "Fireproof." Don't hold me accountable for these facts; they are purely heresy at this point.
Down a pound; I'll take it. Since I lowered my RDI much below what it used to be (I think it is 1800 now), I struggle to hover about it, but it seems to be working. I think the 2300 that I had was way too much to expect any significant or continuous weight loss, especially without being accompanied by a strenuous exercise program. Now, if I can just stay away from the buttered popcorn tomorrow. You have no idea what a challenge that will be to me! I love the popcorn dripping with butter. That and a baked potato is about the only thing I eat a lot of butter on. They don't serve broccoli and radishes in this theater.
I just had to add this culinary experience. DW said, "I'm making you a couple of hard boiled eggs to take with you this morning." Great, I love hard boiled eggs - a great snack. And I didn't eat breakfast this morning. So, I get to work a little late - like 7:30. Been up since 4:30, so I'm ready for a little breakfast. I start peeling the eggs. Hmmm, not hard boiled - more like poached eggs. But they are holding together if I treat them gently. I peel both of them, put them on a paper towel and put them in the microwave for one minute. After 30 seconds I start hearing all of these little explosions going on, so I stop the microwave. I put them in a bowl, and sure enough, they are hard boiled now. Not too bad. I would have preferred the cold hard boiled eggs with some salt and pepper, but they were pretty good. Thankfully, the first one did not go all over me when I cracked it; I am eggstatic!
Well, enough rambling for one morning. Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great Friday, and a better weekend. Toodles!
