Well, after a weekend that can - at best - be referred to as "bad for me" I'm gratified that I didn't pack back on too much weight. I hadn't even intended to drop my diet for the weekend, it just sort of worked out that way.
Saturday was a lot of fun. We went up to the Improv and caught Jay Mohr's stand-up act. He does a lot of stuff off the cuff and it was very well done if vulgar at times. However, since they have a two drink minimum at the club per person, and my wife is at best a one drink date, I did have a bit more alcohol (and calories) than I'd planned.
Sunday I was OK, but the local doughnut shop that I go to decided to unburden themselves of some extra doughnuts. So I started out overdoing it there, followed by a shockingly busy day which required that I skip the gym. That night we went to a traditional Spanish restaurant where I managed to squeak by on a large steak and steamed vegetables and we caught a traditional middle eastern dance troupe. If you have the opportunity to go see that kind of show, I highly recommend it. The sword dance was certainly interesting, as were several of the veil dances. We know two of the dancers so we had good seats though I'm still kicking myself for forgetting to bring them flowers before the show. Next time! :)
