izzypup68's Journal, 21 Aug 15

I am writing from the hospital today. My son is recovering from his appendectomy. He is doing really well, and should probably go home this morning.

I have been living here at the hospital since Wednesday afternoon. You would think it would be easy to be healthy at a hospital, right? Not so much. I have gotten little sleep and almost no exercise, unless you count the laps around the nurses' station that I have been making with my son.

That pesky life, getting in the way of my plans again...

Poor guy -- glad to hear he's being discharged soon as you'll BOTH recover much faster in your own home environs . . . life can be a bit pesky that way! Never understood the way hospitals work -- after surgery, etc. hospital personnel's idea of supporting your 'rest and recovery' period is to come and wake you for a 'vitals check' and whatnot every half hour!!

Lol trying to get out the door but your journal is just too powerful!!! I know exactly what you mean. Vividly remember when my oldest son's appendix burst eight years ago...1am and hospital trying to reach a surgeon...praying through the prolonged surgery for his life...sleeping on a chair next to his bed for 2-3 days...praying for a green light from the doctors...then the GLORIOUS morning, first hint of light, when the doctors told me he would make it!!! Had a private little odyssey to an early opening coffee shop after REJOICING to GOD--the moring light through the clouds, the barely rippling leaves on the trees, the first taste of steamimg coffee. Was beyond comprehensible that God gave him back to us!!!!!!!!!! HUGS for your day. Hope you have an amazing rejoicing soon:)

AWWW, glad he is doing OK. Hospitals are tough re: food and exercise..Your son is the priority so just take care of him at the moment. Course keep yourself healthy also.
