Stripping wallpaper, ugh! The 100 year old house I renovated years ago had 4 layers of it on walls and ceiling, crumbling plaster underneath. Brings back nightmare memories. Good luck with that and your other projects, enjoy your last vacation day!

It sounds as if you are having a nice vacation and you are getting some things done. I know you are happy to finish the kitchen. Once this house is finished, what will you do for fun? LMAO!! Hugs!

JMB, so far on the stripped walls 5 layers of paper with paint in between, one layer is that 70's vinyl grass cloth that is awful to get off. The house was built in the 50's. The wall is not pretty underneath on the one section that is completely stripped at least it's not plaster LOL. I'm putting up slightly textured paintable wallpaper and painting it when I get it so that can be done. I do not want to re-sheetrock it. I'm hoping to not have to strip the adjoining living room as well.

Sounds like your vacation was exactly that a "work-vacation." How often do our little vacations turn into "lists, lists and lists." It is nice, however, to have those interludes when you can get things accomplished and check off the dreaded lists.

It's nice to get some of these projects done. I don't believe I will ever run out of lists..LOL The asthma is acting up with the ozone in the higher ranges so taking a short break.
Insane bird now has a new cage, nice, perfect shape, powder coated and only $65.00 for a close to $300 if bought new, new home for him. Now to cool off so I can get it out of the car, hose it down and get it set up. The company who sent me a bent up one will take it back. This one is much better.
The house is looking and feeling better still have some to do. Then work on finishing the kitchen ceiling tomorrow.

Mr. Gabby (Quaker Parrot) is being very quiet and almost sitting in his food bowl tonight. He is not very good with change. It will take him a couple days to get used to it and his new toys, some of his old ones are there to keep him a little comfy. I still have more to do, the asthma issues have again de-railed me. Body talking, have to listen. Now that my exercise space is available again, it's workout in the morning before anything gets in my way.

I hope Mr. Gabby like his new digs and gets back to being as well adjusted as a parrot can. Feel better. Getting my walk in this am helped as did cooler weather. Gonna try again tomorrow.

Good that you are getting cooler weather. Here at least most have AC and can cool off and sleep well. I can no longer sleep well in the heat. Getting a decent night's sleep is so major!!! Gabby is adjusting a bit he talked a little and attacked a new toy made by a grandson, so is doing better. He also found his familiar swing up toward the top of the cage as he ventured out onto a perch. It will take him a couple days. Parrots are pretty temperamental so well adjusted? Not sure. He is funny.
