Well finally home and back to normal stuff! Sunday and yesterday were carb out days. Tried to just eat the toppings on my pizza Sunday but the pieces were so small. I ate a salad with a Caesar dressing that was only two carbs. Then I ate a small cheese breadstick and three small pieces of regular pizza and two of desert pizza. My blood sugar started out that morning high, 173. The day before that watermelon and croissant really messed it up. Or it could have been the key lime pie! lol. But after pizza we picked up the foods we like to take home: Skin on wieners and beef summer sausage lunch meat. We can't get either of those in Oklahoma. I did pass on the (tear, tear) Old Dutch Potato Chips, only the best chips in the world! My kids got theirs but I declined because I know I can sit and eat a whole bag at one sitting! Then we stopped at White Castle and I only had two cheeseburgers, no fries, no pop. My Blood sugar was lower the next morning, and this morning 139, so getting back down. Fat fast today.

Monday we stopped by the college my Grandson will be attending. He still needs to come up with quite a bit of money. We did a tour and man that lady could walk fast, and I swear the school had no elevators! I was so tired and sore after that! I certainly counted that in my exercise! Then we stopped and I had a bacon cheeseburger and a few fries, and as long as I was already screwed, and knowing today would be back to normal, we stopped at Panda Express. Usually I get a double order of orange chicken and rice for leftovers for lunch, but I just got the bowl and didn't eat much of the rice. (I don't think their rice is sticky enough) but my blood was 179 shortly after eating. I only gained one pound, but think I usually gain more after traveling cause I usually eat lots of pretzels. Snacks this time were cheese and beef sticks.

I'm not overly concerned about the trip cause I know I can handle a little bit off my diet and not fall off the wagon entirely. I am looking forward to getting back on track. I didn't splurge or pig out on anything. I'm not craving the bad stuff. I'm actually more craving the good stuff. But for me food has not really been an addiction. I realize that other people may have much more difficulty with foods. I also realize that most people don't understand the LCHF concept. They are still stuck on counting calories and eating low fat, yet they still don't lose weight. Some are also under so much stress that their health cannot be good. Oh well, I thank God that my road is not so difficult and that I can adjust in spite of what life throws at me. Here's to doing my best today and not worrying about tomorrow!

A fat fast is a short term (3 days max usually) diet of fat with a restricted calorie amount. Think 5 small high fat snacks around 250 calories each.

Dorinda, Glad to hear that you are home safe and sound. It sounds as if you had a wonderful time with your family. I am envious of some of your treats, as a former Midwesterner, there are treats that just can't be bought in Texas. Your blood sugar will be back to normal in a couple of days...once you and Greg get back into your routines.
