I have found that snacking on an indian savory treat called Sev can make u feel full. It's made from Chickpea flour which is formed into a noodle like shape and deep fried then broken into pieces and packed. Usually you buy it as Sev & Nuts which has roasted peanuts added to it. Goes great with tea/coffee :)

they arent really low carb, even thou they're made from chickpea flour they are deep fried in oil...theres roughly 25-35g of carbs per 100g with about 5-10g fibre depending on the brand you choose...but they are tasty as hell lol

Saige I hate to tell you but its not low carb. At 30g of carbs per 100gram it comes in very high...If you are looking for a low carb snack this is not a good choice. Chickpea is very starchy.

Ibiza with all due respect...not sure where you get your figures but chickpea's (the raw product) are actually 61g carbs per 100g with 17g dietary fibre...the oils got nothing to do with it. Legumes are starchy and Sev is no different. if you search Sev Puri here on Fatsecret it says 40g carbs per 100g with zero dietary fibre. Maybe the frying destroys the fibre, so saying it is low carb unfortunately cannot be correct :) http://www.fatsecret.com/Diary.aspx?pa=fjrd&rid=1843168

Hehe no problem... I'm a bit of a die hard with care counts.... Anything higher than 6g per 100 not low carbs in my books. :)

Sorry Saige, It's not a low carb snack but I do consider its a healthier choice somewhat in a small portion size with peanuts, biltong, etc. It would be a better snack choice for those who are avoiding wheat flour(gluten) and need something to nibble on as opposed to biscuits, cakes, etc. Sev Puri is actually a puri(dough) stuffed with onions, potatoes, garlic, chutney and then covered with Sev. Sev itself is chickpea flour formed into noodles and then deep fried. Thickness varies.

From what I read, just 1 samoosa is over 300 calories!!! That is so unfair! :( My usual serving used to be about 6 samoosas at a time! Just shows how we over-consume calories without even realizing it!
