You are all so kind and caring, and I cannot truly express how much that means to me. But there is something I want you to know. I would much, much prefer just dropping dead from a heart attack tomorrow to living so long I'm no longer able to live on my own and care for myself. I choose quality of life over quantity if I'm given a choice. I have lived a good life, and do not believe that death ends in darkness, so I do not fear what lies ahead.

Diana, the hardest thing I've ever had to do was watch my mother's decline in her last year of life. Just love your mom, it's the only thing to do.

I fully understand. I've said I'd like to go in my sleep as I am a pain weenie...but only God knows the length of our days. Both my parents went with a final heart attack and fall and at 70 and same heart issues feel that will take me out as well. I pray for sparks of joy for each day and the ability to care for ourselves well.

We haven't met yet. Hi! So I've had the app for a while but never interacted. I finally started reading what people were sharing on here. We all have different life stories and backgrounds. We all have the same goals though! I was just reading through your profile. I cannot wait to see what else you post. I wish they would let us direct message each other. I wanted to say that when I first started this a few years ago, I was over 314 lb! I have chronic pain and asthma, which has been my excuse until now, not to lose the weight. All of that being said, I am so glad I ran across your post! I pray that you continue to have a fulfilling life, reach your goals, and stay as absolutely amazing as you are! I hope we have the opportunity to help each other and support each other within this community! Keep being amazing!

I absolutely 💯 ♥ agree!! I worked in a nursing home for 20 some odd years, I don't wanna just lay with a feeding tube and not talk, walk, or no anything. I understand completely!!
