jrebsX's Journal, 05 Jun 15

I've been watching some of the youtube "supersize v. super skinny" shows and noticed one key difference: the overweight people think about food constantly. What they will have, when they will have it, how they will eat it, whereas the skinny people forget about food.

I definitely have had the mindset of the fat person, thinking about my meals and what I will eat and how I will cook it way too much. I think if I force myself to stop thinking about food and turn my thoughts to something else, this will reduce my cravings and desire to eat.

So, instead of thinking about lunch when I'm having breakfast or shortly thereafter, I'll think about lunch when I get hungry midday. Instead of planning my dinner all day, I'll think about it at night when I'm hungry (and when I go grocery shopping "what do I want this week?"). Just like smiling can make you feel happy, I think purposeful thought can make me less hungry.
