izzypup68's Journal, 31 May 15

A wonderfully unscheduled Sunday lies ahead of me. My daughter and I played some cards and then baked banana bread with our leftover bananas from last week. Soon, we will bathe the dog who is still very dusty and dirty from our hike yesterday.

We got out on the trail yesterday with a friend who was in desperate need of some sunshine and exercise. We took it slowly, resting frequently, so he could recover from the latest stretch of trail. I had chosen what I thought was a fairly easy trail, with a few short steep parts, but a lot of shade. While he made it, he was wiped out at the end. I am glad that he was able to get his muscles moving. It certainly made me think about how far I have come. During one part, I challenged my kids to run up a hill and we all made it! (My daughter wants you to know she started last and finished first. :) ) My son and I explored a less traveled spur trail while our friend was resting. I felt like I had boundless energy. It was fantastic. :)

Madanjen, I have been working on my plan to start our Perfect Week tomorrow. This is not how I usually eat, all schedule out in advance, but I think I can stick with it for five days at least. Who knows, I might discover a new way of doing things. :)

Have a great day!

Thanks for the comment on my journal today. I'm trying to get back into FS after a major lapse. I see that you live in Cali. My daughter lives in San Diego. Are you in that area?

Great hike!! My pup is also in desperate need of a bath but until the mud goes away it's hopeless. She would just go roll in the puddles!!

I just remembered that I was going to bathe Daisy today. Oh well, it's kind of cool out. Maybe Tuesday lol. I'm having company so she'll be freshly pretty lol.

Well, we did give Bosco a bath. When we set him free after he was nice and clean, he immediately started tearing around the yard like a crazy dog! He stopped only long enough to roll through the dust here and there. In a matter of moments, he looked worse than when we started! Goofy dog! So, he got a second bath. :)

Wow, that sounds very pleasant. Great job involving the family and challenging each other!
