Definitely eating too much dinner!! Little energy left after the week but feeling better today. Even a couple people at work commented that I looked better.

Stopped at a little Mexican shop, they make their own pork tamales. I have been planning on making them the past couple weeks, and then ended up sick. They are so good and just $1.00 each, bought 6, heated up 3. Popped them in the oven with a bit of muenster and some hot salsa. YUM!!! Probably should have only heated up 2. I would have been very happy with 2. It's almost not worth making them at home, but I like to now and then.

Might go over my calories a bit as I had a beer one fits, it's calming my coughing, might have a couple more. I'm tired of taking the meds. I keep eating extra, not because I'm hungry, ie: morning bead and hummus snack, but to counteract the upset stomach issues with the meds, something in the stomach eases it. All will pass soon as I get off of the meds.

Hoping I can get out and work on my yard this weekend, high 70's are predicted.

Simply ate too much, body is feeling it, should have paid attention to myself feeling mostly full, didn't. Am not worried Jenn, thanks. Figure I didn't eat much for about 4 days last week. I just average out anyways.

A tamale only about 150 calories, not bad.

I find I tend to eat too much dinner when I am overtired (as happens when recovering from illness while trying to work full time). Sounds like a little bit of stress as well? Am sure you really need to have a nice weekend.

The tamales were so good. Still have 3 in the frig. They are from a market that has changed hands recently, a friend told me that the new owners had the best tamales in their other store; they are family friends of hers. This will be an occasional stop for me as grandkid's ball season is about to start. So a healthy option for quick food on the way from work to games if I don't pack something. Waay better than a $1.00 mcdonald's hamburger!!!

Actually one tamale, maybe a bit of rice, and some veggies would have been a perfect meal. 3 is too many!!!

"Yummy Mexican!" The corn meal won't cause you to gain weight? I hope that you feel better.~Ann :)

Ann, my plan is lots of whole plant based foods with a bit of animal proteins mixed in. Whole grains are a big part of it. Masa (the tamale dough) is made from ground hominy (dried corn) definitely part of my normal plan. A basic premise of vegetarian eating is complementary proteins. Combining plant foods with different amino acid chains to obtain a complete protein. Whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, are all part of it. Dairy and eggs if you are not vegan. I'm not vegetarian, however, sometimes go weeks with no meat added to my meals.
