GayleMaz's Journal, 25 Oct 22

It's been months since I have recorded my weight or written in this journal. So much has happened.

I auctioned my home, farm and contents in late June. I moved in mid July to VA. I lived with my son and his family for 2 mos while finding a home to buy here. I found a cute little house in town along the Potomac River. I am loving my new community, house and state. It has all been tons of work, but worth it.

I have paid NO attention to what I eat or weigh. I unpacked my scale last week. Ugh. I was not surprised at the number, but that doesn't mean I like it. It shows that I am what I eat.

I have a new Dr and yesterday's bloodwork results and Dr visit were eye opening. A new med for cholesterol, a new plan for weight loss and getting my A1C down. Otherwise he will put me on insulin in January. I don't want to need that.

I am determined to work on my health now that my life circumstances have settled down some. I am trying to find just where I fit in to this community by attending several different civic meetings. Making new friends has never been easy for me, but I am trying.

I am grateful to be just 20 miles from son, his wife and kids, and my ex husband who is still a really good friend. Life goes on, and life is good.

Photos of my house, 2 of the river at the end of my street, the public beach, and the bridge between MD and VA.

beautiful home beautiful location. wishing you well with your new regime for tackling your diabetes. I would encourage you to try keto or or extremely fast correction of your blood sugar carnivore meals. I just recently got my sister eating keto as she is preparing my meals and her blood sugar has dropped significantly as well as her weight in the last month. she says she won't go back to eating the standard American diet again. but to each his own I do wish you well with whatever program you use.

Thanks so much for all the support. I really appreciate it. The views are at the end of my street, not from my house. The rich folk live at the end of my street!
