Yesterday, I had the unbelievable pleasure of being invited to attend the premiere of Jon Batiste's first symphony in Carnegie Hall. His music felt like the celebration of his ancestors. He brought their birth, life and death forth through music.

What a special night, thank you for sharing, I love it. Sometimes I marvel at the stories of disastrous premieres though, eg., the Rite of Spring, 1913🤣 I don’t think things like that would ever happen again. Has the audience become more discerning and open minded than it was in the last century? And, after all those tonal revolutions that had already occurred, where is music going next? Your post reminded me of those questions.

JustBananas, the moments when he played the piano were super special, especially when all the other instruments and sounds were subdued. He really shinned in those moments.

Livin' you made me feel so special, thank you! We must share similar tastes! I know I lucked out big time with this experience. I mean, honestly, sometimes it feels like I never leave the house.... I work from home, I have my basement gym, this was a huge treat. But thank you again for making me feel special! You are the amazing one, for sure!
