Thanks Kat - I actually put the 3 month "old" scale in the guest bath a couple weeks ago and have been using the new scale. It's 51 steps from the master math scale to the guest bath scale. I just wanted the weigh in numbers for both scales with the clothes on I was wearing to the doctor's office. Until recently I had a scale that exactly matched the doctor's scale. I'll leave the scale in the guest room. When I have overnight guest they can think they've lost a little bit while visiting! Thanks Morticia! I can't believe how much the physical therapy helped me. The plan had been for the doctor to give me a corizone shot today in the other hip. But I didn't need it! I whined about PT and hated going but it really, really helped. Thanks Diana! He always gets so excited when I lose because it is so rare. He printed out instructions on what to do since I am trying to lose weight. Exercise 45-65 minutes at least 5 days a week, aim for 30-45 grams of fiber a day, starting slowly. Avoid processed foods, select foods that are low in calories and high in water content such as soups. Avoid eating 4 hours before bedtime. If you have to have a snack at night make it light like fruit. He is very consistent in what he tells me. The print out also says to consider just eating 2 meals a day. I do that with IF and I don't eat for more than 4 hours before bedtime.

Thanks Sugarplum and Maine - My doctor wants to see me in 6 months, last visit I had to go back in one month for follow up for the hip, leg and back pain. That is so much better and now I'm motivated to keep on with the low fat diet. Starting again tomorrow.

I agree with you ,,,,its very frustrating with the scales sometimes, i started out this dieting lifestyle with the doctors office scales and our home scales were wayyy off so i kept driving to the dr office just to weigh myself and i didnt trust our scales, after a few months we bought new scales and they were more accurate so i trust it and dont go back to the office anymore. But all those numbers can mess with your head for sure, Just keep on the track and things will get better

Thanks Shirley! Thanks Morticia - I'm not proud really, just happy to be able to go see the doctor and not be whining about how everything hurts and happy to see how pleased he was that I had lost 10 pounds since I saw him last month. Thanks Ginome - I need to set my next 15 pound goal. I had suggested to my doctor that he not order lab tests for CRP (C Reactive Protein) until I had lost at least 20 more pounds). It's always, always really high and indicates inflammation in my body. The only time the number was in a somewhat normal range was several years ago when I had lost 50 pounds. I gained the weight back and the blood test shows high inflammation again. So that's why the goal of at least 20 pounds before my next visit. It's actually 5 months, the week before Christmas. That should motivate me to do good during Thanksgiving at least. Thanks Mshar! Thanks Julie - Since there is a difference of only a pound or so I am just going to try to not worry about it. My new scale weighs a little higher than the one at my doctor's office, so I should be happy being weighed there.
