I am feeling pretty proud of myself. Last night, my daughter had a friend at the house and I made brownies for them. (I had won a gift basket last weekend and that brownie mix it contained had been singing to me from the pantry ever since.) I didn't have enough calories left for the day to join in the chocolate festivities, and I was able to let the kids enjoy. This morning, I cooked up the tube of cinnamon rolls. (I have to get all these goodies cleared out of the house somehow! :) ) I had my protein shake and savored the smell, but resisted the tasty rolls themselves. We are hosting game night tonight and I am planning ahead so I save some calories for the evening.
I have started the process many times, but I feel like something is different this time, like I am making real mental changes this time. Walking away from a pan of brownies is something I would not have done, even last week! I just need to continue for the long term--that feels like my biggest challenge.
