Counting my calories and exercising religiously. Using MyFitnessPal and MapMy Ride to track them (eclimb88 if you want to follow me)and it give me my daily max for weight loss. I still like tracking here as I have a 6 year history of my journey. :)
The key is finding activities that you enjoy. With virtually no snow for XC skiing this year I have been doing a lot more cycling. I keep my road bike safe at home but I ride my trusty commuter a ton and have studded out the tires on my mountain bike (lots of sheet metal screws and blistered thumbs) and have taken to the trails and lakes (frozen.. duh...MN). I have also signed up for 5k events every month to give myself a short term activity to be in shape for. As my climbing trip this year is going to be more technical than my past annual trips, I have set a goal to be 175 by July. Less weight to haul up the mountain. I am currently 3 pounds heavier than I was when I climbed Mt. Rainier last July. I was in great shape but those extra pounds kill the knees!
