Fiber and a source of Omega-3s and ALAs.

More protein and less carb than flax and chia.

C.C. What does it taste like? Sound's like it would be easy to digest.

well I'll just have to buy me some of that. I get tired of the flax and chia seeds. Thanks

I may look into it too :) I just tried Tofu for the first time tonight! I didn't care for it alone right out of the pkg but added to brown rice, broccoli & a bit of sharp cheese -- it could grow on me LOL

JJ, seems to have a more pronounced taste if you let it steep but it doesn't add much flavor if you drink it right away. I use it in protein shakes. Some people say it has a nutty flavor.

You simply don't usually eat just tofu unless the chunks are fried or baked then usual with a sauce. Tofu takes on the flavors it is cooked with, it has almost no taste of it's own.

booster, I use chai and flaxseed as well. Figure it helps to vary sources of fiber and nutrients.

Jeri,I think that comment is addressed to me? Thanks,I will remember that. The recipe didn't mention cooking it...just cut in cubes & add to rice & broccoli already cooked then top with cheese.

Add it just before foods are done to heat up a bit. I use tofu a lot, have since the 70's. Unless it has baked or fried it will disintegrate with long cooking or much mixing. I use it mixed in my veggie burgers for extra protein and to bind them together, you can add a couple tablespoons to a smoothie to boost the protein. Use in stir Fry's. Just a few suggestions.

oofster, I wouldn't be able to hit my protein marks without whey protein.
04 Dec 14 by member: ChrisComedy
Yeah, I use whey protein too. I also found isolate whey protein it has less carbs and less calories.

I want to switch to isolate because I have heard it's better than regular whey, but haven't found one that doesn't have additives or artificial sweeteners. What are you using?

I use Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Isolate. I believe it comes in chocolate and Vanilla creme.I get it at the commissary. I can't find it anywhere else. I've looked at Walmart and other places.

I used to get the regular BF whey at Kroger. Looks like the price has come down since then.

We don't have a Kroger's here. There is one place I haven't checked and that is Fred Meyers. I'd like to use the regular, but unfortunately they don't carry it. Maybe they can order it for me. I believe I paid less then 20 dollars for a 2 lb container.
