Your BP is looking good. You will be off those meds before you know it! Awesome! Once I got off all of my meds, I felt 1000 times better. The side effects are terrible but you don’t realize it until you’re off of them. I was on blood pressure, heartburn and cholesterol meds this time last year.

Thanks. Just came back from my walk. Beautiful day today. Sunny, breezy and warm. Isn't the BP numbers a little low. I take 1/2 pill twice a day. I noticed after 4 or 5 days, my BP starts going down to between 110/63 to 115/65. When I get down to those numbers I usually skip the pills for a day or two to get them back up. I don't know if I should be doing that. I just don't want my BP to get too low. When I skip taking them, my BP usually goes up between 122/68 to 126/71. My lower number rarely goes over 71.

From my research, your blood pressure cannot be too low unless you start to show symptoms of low BP. Generally speaking, the lower the better. Symptoms of low blood pressure can be: Dizziness, Lightheadedness, Unsteadiness, Dimming or blurring of vision, Weakness, Fatigue, Nausea, Cold, clammy skin, Fainting. Pale skin. I would talk to your doctor about lowering your dosage of meds or taking you off them completly.

I think as long as you're monitoring your pressure each day as you're doing you've got a good handle on your numbers and how you're adjusting your meds. And I think the lower number is the most important as that's your resting blood pressure between heartbeats, yours looks good.

Yea, I definitely will. He told me you can't get off BP meds in one shot, you have to be weaned off them. I don't go till December, I'll give him a call. Thanks

I weaned myself off my metoprolol without my doctors permission. I would not advise that. I took half doses for a couple of weeks then went to an every other day half dose for a week then I quit completly. During the transition there were several times when my heart had an irregular beat or two, but that, along with high bp was the reason my doc put me on it in the first place. I have been off it for almost a year now, and no problems. At the begining my blood pressure went back to normal with very little exercise. It was diet that made all the difference.
