Almost Friday Folks!
I know I've been MIA, and won't offer any excuses. I've been in a lot of pain, nothing new there except both legs are now giving me grief. I haven't been taking the time to weigh myself since Monday, which sucked. I've been stress(?) eating junk every night for awhile now. That's it for confessions.
So on Monday I got my first manicure since February 2020. She didn't have a lot of nailbed to work with, since I've chewed them down to nubs over the past 5 months or so. Lil sis drove me to all of my appointments, which was a true blessing. We started out at my Pain Dr.'s office so I could supply the mandatory urine sample. Something I've not been required to do, since they changed Dr.'s on me back in February. Then the manicure, before a quick trip home to eat lunch, before heading over to Scottsdale and seeing my previous Pain Dr.! He was very upset to see how much my health has deteriorated since he last saw me. He no longer thinks the implant to interrupt the nerve receptors is a good idea, but does want to try changing my medication. He doesn't prescribe opioids in his new practice, so I will need to go off of the Hydrocodone, which I only take at night in order to get some sleep. That's what He had prescribed for me back when he was with Valley Pain, which is the primary reason I'm still seeing them (hence the mandatory pee in a cup visit). I'm to begin a regime of "Low-dose Naltrexone" which will hopefully reduce both the swelling and the pain, but it's going to be a commitment of months to see results, not a quick turnaround. In this Low Dose form, the medication is not FDA approved, so as an "experimental drug" it will be out of pocket and has to be made by a compounding pharmacy. Fortunately there is one near my home, unfortunately it's going to run me $75. I know that's not as bad as it could be, hell my Thyroid runs more than that with insurance, but still...
So trying to stay positive, my first ever owned x-mas tree is supposed to finally arrive tomorrow. This will be the first tree to decorate in years and years, and my first time decorating beyond a wreath on the front door and a tabletop tree in about 5!!! Fingers crossed that I can get it set up this weekend, and that the cats don't destroy it.
Universal Studios 2016 w/lil sis. Stay well and be safe out there my friends. HO, HO, HO!
