Vedadee's Journal, 13 Oct 21

Dammit, I sprained my ankle today getting on a bus! So I'm out of action for the next 3 or 4 days. I applied ice within an hour of the injury and have done that hourly most of the day. I've tied it up and off to bed. Plus side? Well, apart from the excruciating PAIN......

1 - I ate a total of 651 calories as I completely lost my appetite
2 - I did manage a HIIT workout this morning before my injury. Was on my way to Hampstead Heath for 10 kilometre walk!
3 - total calorie deficit of 1387, Yee, Haa!

There's ALWAYS a silver lining to any adversity I guess. I think I can still do some gentle yoga tomorrow and some upper body shoulder, bicep and tricep workouts.

Hm, I wonder if it's a good idea to workout or just rest up for the next few days until I'm fully healed?

I would RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. It will heal quicker in the longterm.

Sound advice 👌 Less inclined to do anything that will prolong the healing. 🙂

I'm terrible at taking my own advice and try to work round injuries. I always regret it😩😀

Many thanks everyone for your well wishes. I've just ordered compression socks to aid the healing and a pair of ankle support braces once I can walk without pain.
