Shrimp & scallop etouffée over rice. Never used scallops before & was a little worried they'd over cook, but came out perfect. Food for the gods.

Well Tim, I would make catfish court-bouillon for you my friend, I definitely do not want to cause anymore problems for you. My grandson Paul is also allergic to shellfish.

AC, when I am on plan, my success comes from both, CICO. Obviously I have not been consistently on plan for the last year, why do you ask?

Trying to find my balance. Some days I just can't get excercise in for whatever reason.

SF1, Eral66's weight drops are due to days of fasting, no excercise. I cannot afford brain fog & not being able to function due to food withdrawal. I am already dealing with senior moments & not yet a senior. Most are on very low carb & tons of excercise. Other demands for time is an issue when excercise & recovery time is added to the schedule.

ACBelle, my plan is very simple. I follow CICO (calories in, calories out), 1500-1600 calories a day. There are no forbidden foods, only food moderation. I try to avoid processed food, eating mostly fresh fruit, vegetables and proteins (meat, poultry, seafood, dairy). But when I occasionally want rice & gravy or dessert or whatever, I fit it into my RDI (recommended daily intake). I don't fast, I eat three meals a day (occasionally a snack); when I'm planning to have a big meal such as this one, which is not often, I may eat a light brunch and skip lunch. I eat when I'm hungry, so generally a light breakfast and lunch and a big dinner, often at 9 or 10 at night. I drink water or other liquids during the day, but probably not more than 50-60 ounces. As for exercise, I have limitations due to a number of health issues. I don't walk well and use a walker when I do walk; I cannot do anything that causes my face to flush or for me to get overheated, so I swim laps at a local gym that has an indoor pool, and due to other physical limitations, I use my own creative style and swim very slowly. What I know from personal experience is that when I eat fewer calories than I burn, I will lose weight. I don't have to do any special things, just count calories. It is that simple. I hope this helps you. If you have any further questions, ask away.

And BTW, AC, due to health issues, I go stretches of time with no exercise and still lose weight. Look at what others do, but find what works for you, a plan that you can live with for the rest of your life. Develop good eating habits based on your plan. Good luck on your journey! 💜💚💛

SF1. What you just wrote. It's the final key. I can't thank you enough. You have elements in your plan that mirrors mine. All have to do now is to write out, commit, maybe make slight adjustments as I go.

You're welcome AC. You can do this, step on the path and get going. 🍁
