Can't wait until I get to go to the grocery store. I am out of so many veggies. I have found to new things that I really enjoy on my diet. Almond milk and grilled romaine lettuce - a little no salt seasoning and a few sprays of olive oil and cook in a screamin hot cast iron grilling skillet. Yummy. I am planning a cheat day on my hubby's 80th birthday.

What do you mean, grilled romaine?

I have a cast iron skillet that is a grilling pan- I get it really hot. While the pan is heating - I wash & dry (real good) a head of romaine lettuce and cut it in half, spray the cut side with a little bit of Olive oil and sprinkle some seasoning (something you like) and put the cut side down in the skillet and sear it - it gets grill marks on it. I turn it 1 time(not on the grill for long). Serve it plain or with Balsamic vinegar or your favorite low calorie dressing. So good.

I have tried several different brands of Romaine lettuce and it all tastes the same to me. I do not get any bitterness, I kind of seems a little sweet- but it just may be my taste buds. I do use a vinegar based dressing on it after it's cooked. I love it.

Grilled lettuce, yum. The flavor is like grilled meat lettuce wraps. Without the meat. Sometimes I toss my lettuce & nappa cabbage in the air fryer to give it a slight brown, no char.
