41 hips
24 thigh

BS 39???
BS 2nd time 100

When I started this journey I didn't even know and couldn't accept how much weight I had gained, but I recognized how uncomfortable it was for me to move, that something was not right, that my joints hurt, that I couldn't get on the floor and that I wasn't feeling happy. I also didn't know that with a plan I would start changing all that. Now, 50 pounds later, I feel more fat than the day I started, maybe I'm not in denial. But I also have my aspirations and goals set. I just know that with persistence and patience, this journey can work, despite any obstacles and challenges, and I know I have some big ones in my life .. .. if I can lose 50 pounds, you can too!

I started my journey for those same reasons. And I still feel fat too. I look at my size 10s and they don't look small to me (I started in a 24 and was an 11 as a teen, so why don't I at least think my jeans look small?). Depending on how long you were overweight, it's possible that your mind hasn't caught up to your body yet and you still feel fat. But I guarantee you that you look much better than you used to and how you feel you look. It's also possible that you won't be happy until you reach your goal, because you have high expectations of yourself. Feel happy for each pound that you lose because you're becoming healthier. It's not important to be thin; it's important that you're healthier than you used to be. So be proud of yourself and all you've accomplished. Accept yourself now - at your current weight - because you deserve to be accepted, regardless of your weight. It doesn't mean you won't continue to lose weight; actually, it could lead to more weight loss because you'll care for yourself and will want to take good care of yourself. It sounds like you have body image issues and possibly "body dysmorphic disorder" and there are many books out there about body image and how to improve it. In case you enjoy reading and/or learning, I thought I would mention it. You can also ask your friends/family about how you look now compared to how you used to look. Sometimes, others are a better judge of our body changes than we are. You're doing great! Remember that.

And you're doing this while you're still young! Even Better! You get it! You'll be able to more fully enjoy life and have a better chance at keeping your health. Kudos!

I understand. I have lost 50 also. I feel fat and bloated. Saw a pic of myself yesterday. I still turn away from the camera. All I can see is my gut rolls, chin roll, arms........
