I cooked the pepper with avocado oil first (390 for like 5minutes), added the sausage for another 3-5 minutes, then added the cheese and switched to the dehydrator setting for a minute or 2. My cheese always flys around the air fryer and the dehydrator setting is the only thing that works to melt it.
One day I want to try to make tuna melts this way, replacing the bread for a pepper!
