I have had a really bad week :(I was full and still ate plenty of crisp and ferraro's and in the span of 3 days I gained 1.5 kg!! I am really disappointed in myself. I start religious fasts on Sunday and am hoping not to eat samoosas and oily food but rather prepare proper meals

Most of it is just water weight. You will be back to your usual weight in a few days if you stay on a diet. It's not that easy to gain weight, just ask everyone here that want's just that. Don't go on a too radical fast or you'll binge again. Good luck :-)

I sure hope so :) I agree I deprive myself and without thinking (the craving is triggered when I see a family member eating leka stuff) I eat the wrong things and then can't stop...I will have to introduce portion size treats thrice - four times a week so when I see unhealthy food I can control myself

Eating samooosas every day of the week would be unhealthy. I would try to eat only one and then eat some type of vegetables that would fill you up. I love lentils and chickpeas. Green beans, too. And Baby carrots.

Ah good luck with fasting and then choosing the right food... just make sure you get lots of fiber to keep you fulfilled and stay away from salt as much as you can. You may opt for muesli and natural oatmeal with yoghurt or milk before sunrise...

@Deb_N I used to eat samoosas everyday for a whole month in the past - I now want to limit it to once a week. I know once I start with one I will want to eat more. I will take your advice and AilaOne and eat those foods..Thanks for the luck AilaOne :)

Off course it was. Next time you overindulge just don't step on the scale for a few days so you don't get disappointed for nothing :-) I know I wouldn't ;-)

Just get back on a regular diet, Don't be disappointed in yourself , stuff happens!!! If you see my history, I have zig zag alot, but I am back on track....
If you are too busy to cook or do not have Rachel Ray cooking skills like me, try single stouffer meals for a start then try semi homemade meals, example but prepare meat that you just heat up ( New ones in meat/cheese/ produce section, and then make easy sides like stouffing , french fry, frozen vegetables, ect.... Also if you like soups and salads like I do, make a couple of soup and salad dinners and keep track of the calories.
If you have to eat fast food like Wendy's, or Taco Bell, go for smaller items
on dollar menu or Crunchy taco supreme-stay away from large sandwiches like Bic Macs , Full Size WhoppersEct
Women its usually 1200-1300 calories a week to lose, men can have more
if you weigh heavier check the calorie count on the internet
Remember lots of free info the internet, most weight loss is just diet and excercise-
Keep in mind I am not one to lecture with my track record, but really it comes down to basic, Cheer up and keep smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I hope I can!!! I generally follow a healthy diet and prepare simple meals...the problem comes when visitors arive and we buy junk food that I can't resist...what I usually do is compensate..If I eat allot today then I eat less the next..that didn't happen this week. Thanks for all the support I genuinley feel much better now and can back on track!

You can avoid overeating if you eat very light before your guests come. That way you can have unhealthy calorie rich food and still not go over your RDI. That's how I do it. It's all in planing upfront :-)
