Artificial sweeteners are NOT toxic. The studies performed on rats where they used 1 thousand times the normal dose are not relevant to humans. These are the only studies that show any adverse effects. This myth is still pretty prevalent in speaking to my co-workers so I thought I would share these links and a video from Layne Norton on the subject.

(😂😂) I didn’t read the articles yet to be honest but it sweeteners works for me and still does. A pack of Erythritol lasts me for 2 weeks and I get to eat cakes in the morning with less calories and carbs as I don’t really count it. My body tolerates it quite well and I might have a chance to be deny my family’s diabetic history. However another study can become available soon and suddenly they associate it to Covid. Replacing sugar was a personal choice for me and I wouldn’t change it. Everything with moderation or whatever works best for you at the end of the day. P.s whatever your opinion is.. keep buying soft drinks (with sugar or no sugar).. I have my rent to pay ✌️

Btw, a very interesting and controversial topic. I am back to my GB version now before things get too serious here 😅

Artificial sweeteners are NOT sugar. Toxic or not, it's only tricking your body into thinking it's getting sugar.

6 papers proving it doesn't affect glycemia or insulin but sure, we'll take your word, HappyJohn.

I knew this decades ago when I read the ORIGINAL Dr. Atkin's Diet Revolution book. (Not the "New Revolution" book or the nonsense the Atkins company now calls a low-carb diet (since the good doctor died). He argued vehemently that cyclamates weren't bad for us. When it comes to food, if we simply kept all things to moderation, we would be in much better health.

Weightlifting is one of the healthiest things you can do. Just listened to a long podcast citing plenty of research about it. Diablo didn't just switch one vice for another. If you don't think lifting weights is a lifestyle change, you've never lifted weights seriously and don't understand how it affects you body composition, metabolism, sensitivity to insulin and all round makes it much easier to be healthy.

I love all the anecdotes, n=1 observational/personal stories being thrown around in an attempt to disprove peer-reviewed research. This is the problem with debate today - everyone thinks it's just about finding studies to support their beliefs, and no understanding of the hierarchy of evidence. Sweeteners are not an issue for the vast majority of humans and most likely, you're not a special snowflake. But keep avoiding diet soda, not picking up weights, avoiding carbs, and freaking out every time you have a higher calorie meal...

Totally agree with Mermee. The people who think that "lifestyle change" means giving up all sweets and freaking out if they eat a piece of pizza with only cardio for exercise, well, they don't know anything about sustainable and proven healthy lifestyle changes.

It's hilarious how so many comments are basically "I don't care what the most rigorous research shows, I'm just going by my experience". You probably have no scientific background, aren't immune to placebo and don't understand the mechanisms causing whatever you observe or think you observe. This is the state of debate today and that's what's sad.

My parents used Sacrin for 60 years. No cancer, no other adverse issues.

I appreciate your post. ❤️ Artificial sweeteners have no place in my life. Maple syrup is my first choice for a sweetener or if I need sugar for a recipe as an example, I choose organic cane sugar. Have a most wonderful day FS Friends!

Yeah, if you can't at least attempt to refute what I've posted above with studies of your own I will just delete your misinformation. The one recently about insulin being spiked by artificial sweeteners and turning air(apparently) into fat was awesome. Deleted.

The swole-shaming is real. Some clean eaters really seem to feel superior about their lifestyle change and don't seem to realize that "lifestyle" is more than just what you eat. Pigging out on crap all the time isn't good but neither is being sedentary or doing nothing to maintain your muscle mass. Do they think the weights magically lift themselves? That it isn't a skill that you have to build through consistency, discipline and proper nutrition? Please, the next time you shame athletes, people who lift or enjoy exercise for not being frightened of fruit or not thinking of pizza as a "cheat", try actually doing something physical that challenges you and then claim that they aren't healthy because they don't have orthorexia like you.

Jealous of the gainz and miserable from avoiding melon, bananas, and obsessing over non-issues like the glycemic index, processing and sweeteners.
