Making Changes

I made some huge changes in my life. First change was to lose weight and I am doing that. When I first started back in Oct of 2009 I was 280 pounds and today I weigh 230 lbs. Thats a total of 50 pounds gone. I had plenty of struggles along the way don't get me wrong. It been a tough road. I would hit a plateau and get discouraged at times. But I refuse to give up. I am taking one day at a time. It felt like a roller coaster at times. I was tired of losing weight only to regained it back. It been this way for over an year now. Up and down getting stress over my weight. I had to finally admit that my plan wasn't working anymore. I needed to make changes and that what I did. Yea the weight is coming off slowly but I am doing it with the help of spark people and others who just like me.

Second changes I made was to get my marriage back on track. See me and my hubby were having problems. We hit a road where we were always fighting and screaming at one another. It was real bad for a while. But we got help and work things out and now things are going great. We be marry for 14 years this Aug.

Third changes I made was getting my kids to eat more healthier by making better food choices. For a while they all were very picky eater. At one point I was making meals for them and me and my hubby. It was driving me nuts having to cook that way. Now I make one meal for everyone and they all just eating healthier.

Forth changes I made was walking more. I made a goal to walk over 10000 steps every day and I been doing good with keeping to my goal. I walk about 4 to 5 miles every other day.

Fifth changes I made was changing my eating habits. I been eating low carb and choosing healthier foods. I eat more veggies and berries. I also cut out sugar and anything made with white flour.

Sixth changes I made was to quit smoking. I just started this one as it only been 5 days now since I quit the cigs habit.

Seven changes I am making is my health as I went to the doctors on Monday and he said I am starting to show signs of mild COPD and I have Acid Reflux. I went to him for having shortness of breath and tightening of the chest at times and coughing a lot to the point I just can't stand it. I also can't stand smells of any kind. It so bad I end up throwing up from it. I also go into panic attacks when I get too stress. So I am trying to make changes to my health for the better.
I want to be healthier and stronger. I don't want to die at a young age like my mother did and she died of COPD at the age of 64 back in 2003.

Eight changes I am making is to stop lying to myself and to stop making excuses. I need to stay more accountable for my own actions. I know that I am capable of doing much more. I just need to try harder. I know that I am not perfect and I am not gonna try to be either. I am going to do this for me and me only.Because my kids need me. I want to be a good role model to them and to myself. My husband is being so supportive now cause he sees that I need to do this not to just look good but for my own health. He loves me for me and he tells me I am sexy every single day even when I don't believe him. I am learning to love myself again. I am staying committed and I will reach my goals one day at a time.....

Well these are the changes that I made and plan on making. I thank you for taking the time to read this.
