2ManyCurves's Journal, 30 Apr 14

I feel awful. I believe a softball has developed in my throat. The muscles in my back and legs are sore and painful. I could not sleep last night. My resident nurse husband says going to the doc for antibiotics won't help since it is apparently viral so I've been tossing back Vitamin Cs and Motrin at every chance. I have five days left until the marathon. I'm praying this passes quickly. Every night I dream I am in the race. I wonder if I am burning more calories when I dream I'm running? Ha. Not that I want to doubt my hubby's expertise, but if I don't feel remarkably better by tomorrow morning, I am making a visit to a Quickcare clinic for a shot of feel better. I've been somewhat fretting about my caloric intake being high this week. But, I've been slipping into a pair of size 12 skinny jeans that were previously fairly snug on me and I've noticed they are somewhat gapping at the waist now. Still snug on my legs, which isn't a surprise since my legs are pretty muscular. But, I was able to take them off and slip them on without even having to unbutton/unzip them. I hate skinny jeans by the way. I would not choose to buy them even if I was skinny as I hate the way they cling to your leg all the way down to your ankle. I always felt like they give me the appearance of a balloon that is tied at the bottom. But, my mom had bought them for me when my husband was at the hospital and I had been stuck there two days without a change of clothes. And, since they are really the smallest pair of jeans that I own now, I'm stuck with them until my cheap butt decides I will go buy some jeans that fit. I haven't wanted to buy new outfits yet because I still have 40 pounds until my goal weight. I would be wasting money to buy clothes that will be too big once I am at gw. Alright, time to go to work unfortunately. Y'all have a good day.

Buy SOME new clothes at this weight - you deserve them and they will help you appreciate how far you've come. If you're like me the pants were looser faster than the tops... so get jeans / pants at thrift stores. Doesn't have to be expensive. But it helps to be able to see yourself in something that truly flatters you rather than what Drag calls 'the clown suit'. Hope you feel better soon and if running in dreams burns cals than I hope what feels like walking miles in my dreams does the same. Where are we going, I wonder?

agreeing with FullaBella with so many sales in stores and thrift shops available give it a shot.

if you believe in the placebo effect, the shot will work like a charm!!! for sure, your resident nurse hubbie can attest to that ;)

I am so sorry you are still feeling sick. I do hope you get better very soon. As for your skinny jeans, You Go Girl !! I have never had a pair but, if you can put them on and off without unzipping them, that is great. Try and get plenty of rest and liquids.

Awww hope you feel better. My go to is a thrift shop. I also hate the way skinny jeans feel. Just spent $31.00 a week or so ago bought 4 awesome jeans and 6 pr of work pants as everything I owned was falling off and making me feel really sloppy. Still need tops, ran out of patience for shopping, I'm not a good shopper.

I hope you are feeling better very soon. I would visit the doctor for sure, even if it is viral they might be able to give you something to ease your symptoms. No sense wandering around feeling like shit if you don't have to, don't be a hero lol. Congrats on the better fitting skinny jeans. I'm with you, I hate that style of jean, I don't even think it looks good, but that's just my opinion.

Hope you feel better soon! Congrats on loose fitting clothes! I hate skinny jeans too, but I do like to tuck pants into boots so I guess that's what they're good for. Still, I don't own a pair because they're dumb and I'm stubborn. ha!

Considering that it's best to "rest" the week before a marathon...I'd say your body is forcing you to do just that! Get your sleep. Get your fluids. Trust in the preparation you've done to get you through the 26.2! I'm cheering for ya'!
