Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! Just thought I'd drop in and update you on my gluttonous and deviant behavior. Geez, that shouldn't stir up such shock and awe on this site. Of course, if I did it on a regular basis, it wouldn't be deviant either, would it? Haha! Well, at least I can still laugh about it. Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, isn't that what they say? Yesterday, we had our first of bi-monthly potlucks, and I just had to sample everything. Better than a buffet, this isn't mass produced food; this food comes via people that are proud of their concoctions. However, there were items on the table that should have clearly come wtih Warning Labels, "This sh$t is rich and will make you fat!" The pulled pork sandwiches weren't too damaging, and the potato salad and cole slaw were fairly harmless, but the choclolate chip cake that was as dense as a browney with frosting that glued your lips together - that one was definitely a victory that went to the Fat Monster. And there was the lemon cake, and the Mexican Fruit Cake that I brought in (that isn't a fruit cake at all, except it has pineapple in the cream cheese frosting). OK, so I overindulged in a bi-monthly pot luck. But, then there was the wedding rehearsal. Downstairs the senior citizens were also having a potluck. Now, why did I go downstairs, when better judgement told me not to? Uh, I don't know, but the vegetable soup was great! And if I had stopped there, that would have even been OK. Then there was the pecan pie (and I don't even care for pecan pie), and it was so sickingly sweet that I could hardly stand it. I said, "Hardly," because I managed to finish it. And then when we got home, and some of the kids followed us, DW ordered pizza. I'm not going to tell you any more. Suffice it to say that I was a bad bad boy.
Guilt overpowered me when I got up at 4:20 this morning, which BTW was no small chore, due to the carb overload the evening before. I have found that overindulging just before bed, makes me sluggish in the morning. I didn't want to get up, and I didn't want to work out. Thank goodness, once I started running, I actually felt better instead of worse. I don't understand it, but I'll take it. Anyway, following the workout, I made a protein shake with a banana, and packed a very light lunch. I'm hoping I will gather what restraint I have left, and make it through whatever the evening has to offer. We will be setting up for the wedding reception in the VFW hall tonight. If I'm lucky, the clan will be done by the time I get off work, and I will easily endure the tempations in DK's own kitchen. I'll be glad when this wedding is over. I am not all that involved, but DW is stressing me out; there's a lot of drama going on with the kids, and instead of opening my mouth to be critical, I'm been stuffing something into it. Well, I think that's enough rambling for today. Back on track for now, and that's the best I can do, for now. Toodles!
