DairyKing's Journal, 12 Mar 14

Good Morning, FS Warriors! All yesterday I felt a little rundown, and even had a hard time staying awake at lunch time. So, I decided to retire early, and went to bed at 9:00. When the alarm went off this morning, I still wasn't ready to greet the day, so I slapped the snooze alarm multiple times. Finally got up at 4:30. What a slouch! Went down and did my workout. It really kind of amazes me, when I think about it, that I'm already running 24 out of 30 minutes. Considering that I was dying after one minute of running when I first started, it encourages me and gives me confidence that I can be running for 30 continuous minutes in the near future. Just like the book says, the first 2 miles will be the hardest miles you will ever fun. I believe that. It takes a lot to build up to those first two miles, and you think you're never going to be able to run for even 5 continuous minutes, but it happens. And before long, five minutes turns into 6, and 6 turns into 10 and 15, and sooner than you thought possible, you're running for 30 minutes straight. I know it works, because I've done it multiple times - and with being 75 pounds overweight. One of the coolest things about this is that, as I become more proficient in the running, I begin to lose more weight, and the more weight I lose, the more proficient I become in the running, and the more proficient I become in the running, well, you get the idea. Same for walking, Zumba, swimming, or whatever you do, as long as you do something to elevate your heart rate, and you do it persistently and consistently.

After my workout, I went into the workshop where the big dogs' kennel is. They have a doggy door which gives them access to a pretty big yard (an old baseball field as a matter of fact). Well, anyway, after I feed them, I give them each a large dog biscuit. On this particular morning, I emptied the dog biscuit box and put it down on the floor. Of course, it has a few chunks and crumbs left in the box. So, the biggest lab,(about 125 pounds - because he is a glutton) sticks his head in the box to get the last morsel. Well, the box still has the flaps for closing the box up, and they closed around his head. I'm laughing my a$$ off as this big black dog is walking around the workshop with a big yellow box with green trim, on his head. And all I can think of is he is a Labrador Cheese-Head. My friends up north will know what I am talking about. Where is a video camera when you need one!

With our upcoming anniversary, and DW's birthday (I gave her me on her birthday), I decided to surprise her with something other than jewelry. I'll probably have to do that anyway, but that's a different story. For years, she has wanted to see one of those Cirque Du Soleil shows. Well, I saw that there is going to be a couple shows this weekend at the colosseum, so I went on TicketMasters and bought a couple tickets. The seats are halfway down on the main floor center stage. I printed them off and handed them to her, saying, "I hope you don't have any plans for this Saturday evening." She went orgasmic; she doesn't even get that excited over jewelry! I guess I've ruined her there. So, it made her day, and I'm sure I'll be able to handle a couple hours of people flying around with ribbons and stuff.

Well, that's about it for today. Here's wishing all my FS Friends a wonamous day! Toodles!

What a thoughtful gift (I'm talking about the tickets, of course!). And now I have a funny picture to carry around in my head of your lab :)
