Good Morning, FS Warriors! A lovely rainy and warmer day we are having here in the Land of Lincoln. We are actually expecting to be in the 50's today, but falling into the 20's tonight, and not quite as warm tomorrow. However, I'll take all the 50 degree days in February that I can get now. Diet is going great, considering I have been on steroids all week. So, I think I'm holding my own in spite of the fact that I've felt like I'm starving a lot. Went to the pantry last night for one snack for the road. Lots of those 100 to 200 calorie bars in there, but I said, "You know what, that's 1 or 200 calories that I'm going to regret having eaten." So, I went to the fridge and ate a granny smith apple instead. I think it was a better choice, and what this journey is all about. Just taking the time to make the best choice, given the circumstances, even if you do indulge 2 or 3 times a day, can mean the difference between consistently losing weight and not.
Even though I'm getting out and going to work everyday, I'm still getting cabin fever. I want to be able to go out and walk or jog on the road. I want to be able to get out in the garage or work on the gymnasium, or the cars, or the motorcycles - something outside. All the parking lots around here have mountains of snow that we've actually started naming - Mount Obstruction, Mt. Depravation, Mt. Blockstoomanyspaces, and Mt. Whatwereyouthinking.
Worked out with the Jillian Shred DVD and then did 30 easy minutes on the treadmill at 3.0 mph. My Walk/Run program called for no jogging today, so I'm going to stick to the schedule to avoid injury and make the smoothest transition I can to running a 5K. It might take me 6 months, but I'll get back there. whenever I get in a hurry, I get burned out and move onto other less healthy ventures. I'm confident I'm on the right track, getting my strength and endurance back, and I'm going for it.
I'm drinking a lot more water now. I still put the no-calorie flavoring in most of it, but that helps me to drink more of it. I think here in the near future, I'm going to get some of those K-cup tea packets and start drinking more iced tea. All in all, I can feel a difference. I'm definitely not dehydrated anymore, but I am taking a lot more trips to the bathroom. I've got to find that balance, but I've got time. Just don't want to run the whole 5K with that urgent "Go now, you'll never make it" feeling. Probably just going to come down to timing and moderation.
Well, My FS Friends, here's hoping you all have a wonderful day. Toodles!
