I am trying to increase my calories today and think I'm doing okay. I'm not eating "junk," but "healthy" calories. I ate breakfast (l/f yogurt), had 2 snacks (5 baby carrots each time), ate lunch (half a peanut butter sandwich on pumpernickel) and I am planning on eating my 2 celery sticks later. I may even add in my pretzels!

Good luck with that experiment. Have you seen the nuts in the 100 calorie packs? If you just take one pack and hide the box away they work pretty well. And so much healthier than pretzels!

I think you're making the right decision by adding more calories to your RDI. [anything less than 1200 calories results in our bodies thinking it's 'starving', so it will hold onto every bit of fat it has...] I thoroughly believe that! So, well done! and I agree with the nuts as a snack...so much better than pretzels! Be STRONG and HANG IN THERE! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Thanks everyone. It's a struggle to figure out what's right for my body, but once I figure it out, I'm sure it will get easier. When you eat really healthy, it's hard to get all the calories in. So funny, because when I put all the weight on and ate junk, I went over my calories my three or four times, probably.

Hi Jillzee, I just wanted to say that I try very hard to keep my calorie count between 1200 and 1300. It is not always easy but so far I feel like as long as I do that I am not starving but also not over eating.
