What a traumatic night. Not diet related. A neighbor brought his dog over saying be had been bitten and was crying and wimpering and foaming at the mouth. I didn’t know what to do since it was after hours and we had no money so i phoned the spca for advice. They gave me a 24 vet number and they told me to give half panado for the pain. He was fine throughout the night and then around 3am i checked on him and he was laying very distorted and kinda shaking. I thought he was cold and closed him with a blanket but he looked strange. A few minutes later he had like a fit or something crying high pitched, shaking violently and foaming at the mouth. I just let him go through it. It passed and he went back to sleep still shaking abit. He woke up again disoriented and seemed like be was trying to find a way out cause this isn’t his home. His owner is an orphan and his foster parents wouldn’t let him stay inside away from the other dogs. This is so traumatic. Right now i am sitting under the carport with him and its 4am. He is resting now

Shame, it sounds like this poor dog is in agony. I hope you get it to the vet soon. please be careful as a animal in pain can become aggressive. Also watch out for rabies, not sure where you are from but in some areas it is still a concern. I feel for you, it can be so distressing to see an animal in pain and not be able to help.

Had to be euthanised. Was most likely rabies. Owner said he hadn’t got all his injections yet. I am completely traumatised by seeing a dog have a seizure. I am traumatised at how rapid it progressed and how he was happy, cute and playful and how this virus took him. I will never recover from this. The pain he went through will forever be in my memory. Its sad that besides the seizures, there were still glimpses of him because he ate and he wagged his tail and I genuinely thought he would be fine but his owner and I came home with no buddy. I love animals and I love helping people in the community with their dogs but this was my last straw. I am traumatised

Shame that does sound awful 😣I was also very traumatised by my dog passing from liver disease - it was horrific, but it does get better. Sorry you went through this

Sad that the parents didn't help either with their child's dog, hope all is well now 💗

Yeah the system is messed up. Some people only take on foster kids for the government grant. They didn’t help him pay for the vaccinations. And it’s not that expensive at the pdsa. For a foster child, and the situation in his household i can totally understand why he would want a puppy so I’m not gonna blame him. He needed to love and be loved, doggos can definitely fill that void for foster kids, but I know all dogs go to heaven and he is playing with the all the others. Sigh, truly an emotional day. Thanks for the support
