I've been invited to participate in a half marathon (approx 13 miles). A good friend of mine is participating and would like me to be there too. It’s in Lincoln, NE in May. So if anything, it would be a fun road trip.
I would have to walk it (vs. running) but I'm not sure if I should do it. I would love to be able to say that I accomplished it, but I'm nervous about the level of training I would need to commit to. On the other hand, it’s only 4 months, not forever. But it’s training during the winter (I don't own a treadmill). I could be slowed up by bad weather. URGHH…I don’t know what to do. I just don't want to start and then not finish. That would be the worst.

Wow, you mean I am not the only one who has been toying with this? I have not made a decision, but someone told me to do a 5K first..... which I had intended to this year but so did not happen. Let me know what you decide, maybe we could inspire each other.

I'm about 80% committed to doing it. I looked at a training schedule and it seems doable. I'm still concerned about the weather around here so I'm looking into 'bad weather plans'. Once I have that figured out...and it's affordable...I think I'm going to do it. I'd love to run it, but it's just not possible by May. Maybe May 2010 :)
