jen53's Journal, 03 Nov 10

I've found that weighing on the wii isn't as accurate as it should be, maybe this was causing a bit of stress at the begining. The wii is good because it automatically keeps a log of your weight. But despite the board being an a tiled floor, in exactly the same spot, and standing on the board in exactly the same area, the results can be different. So I've resurrected the old scales which read more consistantly and accurately. The slight downside is that it is weighing about 2 lb heavier. It is much more important to be consitant than the lightest - so I'm not going with the old scales.

Over 14 days the old scales have shown a loss of over 1 1/2 lbs. That will do me... I'm chuffed to bits! So I have readjusted my weight logs on FS which makes the analysis a little weird, but not much.

While 'messing' I've noticed that my RDI is set to default which is set 'maintaining' weight, I've now set it to 'lose 1lb a week'. This makes such a difference to the diet calendar.

Lovely morning today ... hope you are having a good day too!

(BTW John is just half a pound off from being overweight - I'd settle for being overweight - I hate being obese!)

I too have found a discrepancy between the 2 scales, so I stick with my bathroom scale. It has been the most consistant. You both are doing so well. You are so fortunate to have your hubby working with you on you WOE/WOL. Art should be the one doing Atkins. He is the type 2 diabetic, but he just won't leave the sweets alone. Oh Well, there is just so much I can do. He will have to pay the price later. Hope you have a wonderful day.:)

Jen - don't sweat the small stuff. Just stick w/ whichever one is most consistent over the long haul. Stay the course, it'll click in...really. And Laurie (not to take over your journal, Jen-) but my heart sank when I read that your hubby is Type 2, and apparently unconcerned. My Dad had Diabetes for 35 years. And died a slow, painful, debilitating death due to his lack of attention to his diet. That 'price' he will have to pay later, will be shared by you, and your family...even when you don't want it to be. Love will motivate you to find a way to help him see the need to take control of his eating and his body...feel free to email me if you need someone to talk to. Hoping for him to see the reality and the truth of where this will lead before he inflicts that on his loved ones unnecessarily.
