Hi, any advise for someone starting out that struggles to workout and stick to a meal plan?

Hi Siponono, I did a lot of research on the current eating plan I am on and it took me three months to get comfortable. I am on Keto and I also fast intermittently.
If you are starting out, I would advise that you
1. start with counting each and every piece of food that you eat on a daily basis - that way you know how many calories you are currently consuming. Be honest when you’re doing this.
2. Then get a scale that calculates your basal metabolic rate (BMR) - this tells you how many calories your body currently needs to keep functioning and remain at that weight. My BMR is around 1600 calories and I aim to eat between 1200 to 1500 calories a day = calorie deficit.
3. Find an activity you enjoy that you can keep up with and that you can increase per month. I started doing 10-20 minute yoga, now I’m up to 30-40 minute sessions. Some days are boring but I get through them.
4. Cravings are normal, but even if you have a choccie here and there, record it so you can adjust your ibtake
Hope this helps somewhat. Good luck on your journey

@MaybePalesa, thank you for taking the time to give me advice! This is very helpful! In the past I was very ignorant with what I ate and working a desk for 12h a day did not help me. Currently I am taking a picture of every single thing I eat so I can review my calories and count them accurately. I would love to get into yoga and currently I struggle with core weakness which I think is linked to my back pain. Do you have any suggestions for someone starting out? I have looked up various yoga videos on youtube and most are to hard to follow or I can only do 50% of the moves. (I am thinking if I lose some weight my mobility will increase). Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me - I love this platform and find it encouraging!

I know😂😂😂 core strength, back pain and knee pain are such barriers to getting physical. Try searching “Jessamyn Stanley 30-minute Yoga Sequence for Total Beginners” it’s on YouTube Yoga Journal. She is a big girl. Seriously though, I fall on my big bum more than I actually do the Yoga. I laugh at myself and just try catch up to the next move🤣🤣 keep track and keep going!
