It's a shame about your nephew. Do you or your family know of any social workers? Maybe she can help in recommending other solutions (e.g. group therapy, therapist that takes the insurance, etc.). Tell your family not to give up! There has to be something out there for your nephew! How old is he? 17? How much longer until he becomes 18? It must be so frustrating. Working as a pediatric ICU nurse we took 20 yr olds sometime (when adult units were full or the patient was treated before by one of our pediatric specialist when younger, etc.). Exceptions CAN be made. Hopefully, someone/some group can make an exception for your nephew.
On a lighter note, great job experimenting w/foods and exercising! That H2O class sounds like fun! Where can I find a class like that? Where is a class like that offered?

the meeting sounds like so much fun! I envy all of you that get to meet up with each other like that. Sorry to hear about the problems with your nephew's age, our family had the same problem with a granddaughter that had a "breakdown" of some sort (her parents don't tell us much) in college class and was taken by ambulance and hospitalized, they had a hard time with a lot of things because of her age. Actually they had no control over what happened to her at all because of her age. So I understand the problem and sure hope they are able to work it out.
Great job on the exercise front.. I sort of quit my exercise but I am THINKING about it **cheshire cat grin**. That water exercise sounds wonderful.

Sorry about the running into of walls with the nephew. =S Man, the logic seems to go right out the windows, sometimes. I'll be praying for you and your family. Yes, do add the peppers!! :) Just a bit more taco seasoning will help out too... maybe some red pepper flakes, I love them, but the taco seasoning makes my Clint sweat! lol We should do "trading husbands" for dinner!! I have been thinking about your nephew and your family. I'll continue to do so and please keep us updated. With an Aunt like you in his corner, I'm sure he has a better fighting chance now! LOVE the current walking! I want a current lap pool in my yard, they rule! You'll be posting that bikini pic in no time! Way to go!

Keep fighting for your nephew! I don't know the full story, but would it be plausible to at least get him on some medication that would help control his depression-- if that hasn't already happened... The teen years are hard as it is, let alone dealing with issues which you really have no control over. I hope it all works out well for your family. Keep up the great work on exercising! Thinking of you and your family..

What a super way to mix up the exercise routine. I will have to remember that -- resistance training in water. We have some harsh winters here in the Midwest. It is so easy to get bored on the treadmill or at the gym. Our fitness center has a heated pool where "walking in water" would be a great change of pace. Thanks for the info!

Continued thoughts and prayers for your nephew as well. Often times the worst turns out to be the best. Wrangling with the "systems" sometimes seems to be the most monumental challenge! Again -- thoughts and prayers!

Very interesting about the pool with the current, it sounds very effective. And, of course, it's always nice to see people getting together. You enjoy the day too Veggies. :-)
