Okay ... so .. color me sad & disappointed. My BD is tomo & I don't know why .. some massive brain fart or whatever ... I had reservations with a friend to go to Perry's for their fantastic pork chops & of course .. that flaming baked Alaska as my BD cake. I mean ... who doesn't love a BD cake totally on fire? AT my age .. candles would have the same effect anyway... But - I thought w/the ban being lifted, the mask requirement would follow. It has not. And the thought of sitting in that lovely restaurant and being tended to by masked waitstaff in gloves... just seems too dismal & sad to enjoy. So we're on plan B now ... my deck. Probably quesadilla's again as those seem to hold up outside well. I dunno. I know this reads silly, superficial, childish, etc. I don't care. I just can't ... can't see this happening w/masked people. So - as a footnote to my post the other day about 'things I won't be resuming - restaurants. I won't be trying to enjoy fine dining for a while.

Our governor just implemented phase 1 starting today at midnight. Most restaurants can't open for Mother's Day tomorrow as they won't have enough time to restock and get into place all the necessary requirements. My husband's bd was May 4th b4 restaurants were opened for dine in. We always have a breakfast date out and couldn't do that so that was kind of depressing...I get how you feel and understand. I hope you can enjoy your day, whatever you do! 💜💜💜💜

DP, I'd have them drive by, even if she thinks she hates it, she'll really think it's cool. Bella, if you let the baked Alaska burn too long, they'll send fire trucks to your house
which reminds me of a story from when I was in my condo. If you're the one who calls the fire department for the building (we had an alarm pulled, no fire), they are mandated to inspect the call source premises, no matter what part of the building the call was about. So there was a very late night many years back where I had seven firemen in full gear going through my condo with me standing there in a t-shirt. good times, good times.

Funny, we took a tiramisu cake over for our friend's Birthday last week. We put Happy Birthday candles on top...Hubby lit them & directed her to blow them out. She said "NOOOO!" We didn't even think 😐 So they're waving their hands over the candles as they're melting & not going out 😂 The cake was tasty anyway 😋

Happy Birthday.... give us a time tomorrow we will all raise a glass and cheer u on....no need for a parade just call 911 and have them send a fire truck. with 4 or 5 of their men out to your place because you thought you smelled smoke. and remember you thought you smelled smoke...... can’t go wrong with men in uniform .......

I get it with the mask. For me, it would be as if I am visiting my checkups with the dentist! Do you know you can order with them and get delivered through GrubHub? Not sure you can order that desert though :). Well, however you decide to celebrate, I wish you a Happy Birthday!

Well shoot! If I could have waited one day, I would have been born on Bella Beans birthday!! I had no idea our birthdays were only a day apart. May yours be even better than mine was yesterday. And I mean that. And mine was over the top! Hubby and kids went above and beyond. Isolation is not so bad after all!! You are one of my favs on fs.
