Zchefdonna's Journal, 02 Apr 20

It's been a couple of yoyo months, and today I did something I haven't done for 9 months---made and ate a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I will give the rest to my son, but I needed that one slice. I had been feeling deprived and defeated with weight loss and the state of the world in general.
But tomorrow is a new day. I don't post often, but read your posts regularly and they keep me going. This is the longest I have ever dieted in my life. It is much slower losing it at age 72. Keep on keeping on.

Deprivation does not work. You CAN absolutely incorporate a sweet treat into your WOE once in a while. No “cheat meal” required. Portion control and moderation and adjusting the other things you might eat that day to somewhat accommodate that treat. These are very tough times and it is going to get worse. Figure out a way to continue on track, maybe not as rapidly as you might have before, but slow, consistent and steady. Not gaining in today’s world is almost equivalent to a win. You can do it.

Good portion control! At the age of 76 and leading a sedentary lifestyle, I assure you it can be done. Good luck on your journey! 🌈
