Hi all! I have a question on protein shakes.

I’m good with fasting, and started adding Macros to my diet as well. Unfortunately I can never come close to my protein intake based on my macros.

I am considering breaking my fasts with a protein shake. Anyone else doing this and seeing results?

Also, any recommendations on a good protein shake (I am in Johannesburg)? I heard that casein and soy protein shakes aren’t great. Any nice brands out there?

I use nutritech premium diet meal, I've had it as a fast breaker, after work out, as a meal replacement its great anytime really. And lots of flavours. The vanilla and chocolate are my faves, tastes just like a milk shake. I also mix it into plain yogurt sometimes just as yum. I buy it on takealot and have it delivered

I check takealot for EVERYTHING. The work I do brings me lots of vouchers so the more I can get on takealot the better

My advice will be if you just want to loose just weight and maintaining muscle use Evolve Nutrition Tri-Whey. Reason I have used all the brands out there you name it and always gained not bad for me but I started to diet and I bought myself Evolve Tri-whey I am using it 3 time a day 2 scoops with 300ml water. I have lost 4kg within a week from 101 to 97. And you only have to shake it for 20 seconds to achieve a very smooth and delicious shake.

I have trouble getting my protein up because of not eating meat or dairy. discovered Bio Gen plant based protein. The only thing is that its vanilla flavoured, so on it's own as a drink it's ok or in a smoothie with mostly fruit. Tried it with beetroot 🤢

There is a lot of protein in the casein powder and it’s delicious 😋

i use Herbalife shakes and the protein drink mix. really awesome. i am a distributor. let me know if you want to try.
